DISCRIMINATION ON THE HOOF!

The current HATE CRIMES BILL that passed the house earlier this year has been in the news a lot lately. Something you may not have heard was what U. S. Attorney General Eric Holder said during hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee. According to an ARTICLE on Examiner.com, Senator Jeff Sessions, R-AL, asked Holder point-blank if this legislation would protect all Americans equally? Holder had to admit the truth, the answer was that it would not protect most Americans. What happened to the left's demands for fairness to all, equality, and ending discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, etc.? Where did all that go all of a sudden? I'll tell you. It's a matter of political convenience. Whatever is politically advantageous for the liberal left at the time.

Here is a video clip where Senator Sessions puts Holder on the spot. Holder is obviously having difficulty answering the questions that show that if for example, a minister being assaulted by a gay activist regarding preaching against homosexuality would not be protected.

This legislation is highly discriminatory and places the value of one human life above another. I think this is absolutely despicable. A human life is a human life. One life is just as valuable as another, I don't care what that person's sexual orientation is, their race or ethnicity, religion, or any other differentiating characteristic. A victim is a victim, no matter what, and crimes against a person should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Period.

Hate Crimes legislation is nothing more than political grandstanding. The very idea that one person's life is of less value than another should be revolting to every single American. "Should" being the operative word.

Oh, and one more thing. Remember my post from a few days ago about the defense bill that would fund the addition of seven F-22's to our arsenal? And how President Obama has threatened to veto it if funding the fighters is still in it when it reaches him? Well, the Hate Crimes bill is now a rider on the Defense Bill. Since President Obama is pro Hate Crimes legislation to the max and anti-funding for the F-22's, it will be very interesting to see what he will do.

Why is it so hard to have good old fashioned argument? What's up? Why can't conservatives ever back up their assertions?

Cheers
