DEMOCRATS NOW THREATENING HEALTHCARE TAKEOVER OPPONENTS

True to form, the fascist Democrats are now trying to threaten and intimidate those who oppose the government healthcare takeover. Here is an ARTICLE that appeared on the WASHINGTON EXAMINER about REPRESENTATIVE HENRY WAXMAN, D-California, called in some of the top executives of several companies to explain why they had said the recently passed healthcare takeover would cost their companies millions of dollars. Waxman is also demanding the companies turn over company documents related to their healthcare expenses. Now, the last time I checked, the First Amendment guaranteed freedom of speech which includes the expression of opinions.

Representative Waxman and the POLITBURO are using scare tactics to try to stop any public opposition to the healthcare takeover. Now, since when has political opposition been an offense where the government calls one to Washington to "explain themselves"?

Here is one of the letters to one of the executives:

HENRY A. WAXMAN, CALIFORNIA
CHAIRMAN
ONE HUNDRED ELEVENTH CONGRESS
COMMITTEE ON ENERGY AND COMMERCE
2125 RAYBURN HOUSE OFFICE BUILDING
WASHINGTON, DC 20515-6115

Mr. Samuel R. Allen
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Deere & Company
One John Deere Place
Moline, Illinois 61265-8098

Dear Mr. Allen:

On March 23,2010, President Obama signed health care reform into law. One of the top
priorities of the House Energy and Commerce Committee will be to ensure that the law is
implemented effectively and does not have unintended consequences.

After the President signed the health care reform bill into law, your company announced
that the new law would adversely affect its financial outlook for Fiscal Year 2010, stating, "As a
result of the legislation, the company's expenses are expected to be about $150 million higher on
an after-tax basis."!

The new law is designed to expand coverage and bring down costs, so your assertions are
a matter of concern. They also appear to conflict with independent analyses. The Congressional
Budget Office has reported that companies that insure more than 50 employees would see a
decrease of up to 3% in average premium costs per person by 2016,z The Business Roundtable,
an association of chief executive officers from leading U.S. companies, asserted in November
2009 that health care reform could reduce predicted health insurance cost trends for businesses
by more than $3,000 per employee over the next ten years.3

2010 expense by $150 million after-tax (March 25,2010) (online at

Evan Bayh (Nov. 20,2009).

Marketplace (November 2009).

The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing on April 21, 2010
at 10:00 a.m. in Room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building to examine the impact of the
new law on Deere & Company and other large employers. We request your personal testimony
at this hearing.

To assist the Committee with its preparation for the hearing, we request that you provide
the following documents from January 1,2009, through the present: (1) any analyses related to
the projected impact of health care reform on Deere & Company; and (2) any documents,
including e-mail messages, sent to or prepared or reviewed by senior company officials related to
the projected impact of health care reform on Deere & Company. We also request an
explanation of the accounting methods used by Deere & Company since 2003 to estimate the
financial impact on your company of the 28% subsidy for retiree drug coverage and its
deductibility or nondeductibility, including the accounting methods used in preparing the cost
impact released by Deere & Company this week.

We ask that you provide the requested information by April 9, 2010. For purposes of this
request, the term "senior company officials" includes all company officials at the level of Vice
President and above for the company or any subsidiary. Attachments to this letter provide
additional information about responding to Committee document requests and testifying before
the Committee.

If you have any questions regarding this request, please contact Meredith Fuchs with the
Committee staff at (202) 226-2424.

Did you notice? The Oversight and Investigations subcommittee? What is there to investigate? Folks, this is government gone (even more) crazy. The government absolutely cannot ask for a private enterprise's internal documents without probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. Furthermore, asking for even e-mails? Mr. Waxman, I seriously don't think so. So Soviet Unionish of you.

Refer to the Fourth Amendment: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." The only crime here is that someone stood up and told the truth about this healthcare disaster in the making. Mr. Waxman and the rest of the Politburo needs to refer back to the First Amendment above.

This shouldn't be surprising. Obama asked citizens a long time ago to report anyone who opposed the healthcare debacle.

I think we're going to see much more of this between now and November. The leftist Democrats know their time is limited, and they are well aware of the poll numbers showing they are all in serious trouble.

Just a little side note here. This is where it is really a very good thing that the TEA PARTY movement does not have a single leader. If it did, I think he or she would have already been called to Washington to "explain themselves."

Hi Dirk,
Great blog post! Even though my personal mantra is: "Jesus is Lord" and He is my Only salvation, I still like to 'mix it up' with the arrogant bullies and criminals in the WH and the demon possessed Dims...LOL. I love a good fight, but sorry to say most Americans have grown too fond of the EZ chair and the stupid TV....sorry.
Keep up the good fight.
