IS THE GOVERNMENT TRYING TO CONTROL THE FOOD SUPPLY?

You may or may not have heard about this. It doesn't seem to have received any press coverage at all. I searched through Google, and I got many hits, but there were absolutely no returns of any news network, newspaper, or any other mainstream media. I always find suppression of news items interesting as I always wonder what is being covered up. The closest I found to mainstream media coverage of the incident I'm about to talk about was found in The Plain Dealer, which is located on CLEVELAND.COM. The incident I'm talking about is the execution of a search warrant by the LORAIN COUNTY, OHIO SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, along with the OHIO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, and the LORAIN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT raided the home of John and Jacqueline Stowers on December 1, 2008, who operate the MANNA STOREHOUSE which is an organic and all-natural food co-op that sells dry goods, household items, and frozen meats. The foods are generally purchased from local farmers (I can see where that would tee-off government since the government actively put local farmers out of business starting in the '70's and turn agriculture over to what they call "agri-business", a term meaning huge companies). Whether there was an actual "raid" or not is up to question. The Lorain County Sheriff's Office denies a SWAT team being used as has been alleged. The Sheriff's Office there has said they do not have semi-automatic weapons, and it was an uneventful search with a warrant, but the issue was a licensing complaint. Over a licensing complaint, the Ohio Department of Agriculture sent an undercover agent to infiltrate the co-op, and purchased some eggs. Regardless of what tactics were used, at the very least, this seems very much over the top over a licensing issue.

In another incident involving the Ohio Department of Agriculture's use of an undercover agent, an Amish man was entrapped for allegedly selling milk to the agent. It later became known that the Amish man refused to take any money and thought he was doing a charitable act.

A sidenote: Who knew that the Ohio Department of Agriculture used undercover agents? Just that statement alone sounds bizarre to me.

Now, we have still yet another incident. After seeing this on CNN, I had a hard time finding anything about it. The ONLY place I found it was on the ATLANTA JOURNAL CONSTITUTION'S site. On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, the FBI searched ANGEL FOOD MINISTRIES in Monroe, Georgia. I again searched the Internet, and this was the ONLY thing I found. Interesting. If the government has nothing to hide, why the suppression of media coverage. Of course the FBI isn't saying why it hit Angel Food Ministries. For those of you not familiar with Angel Food Ministries, this organization provides boxes of food at a low cost for those in need. They provide hunger relief to more than 500,000 families a month. It operates through churches and volunteer workers. More than 200 churches in the metro-Atlanta area participate.

See a common thread in each of these incidents? I see several. The first one is that media coverage is extremely limited or non-existent. That's reason enough alone for suspicion right there. Next is that all of these involved Christian people or Christian organizations. Another commonality is that each of these incidents involved a food supply. In my opinion, it appears that government authorities are targeting food supplies that are independent of government control, and all just "happen" to be Christian organizations or people.

Since we have so much information available at our fingertips, we all need to keep as close an eye on government as we can. We are losing more and more freedom every year, every time Congress convenes. Many of these losses of freedom are not publicized, but we lose a lot with every session of Congress. If they were made public, I think there might be rioting in the streets and a huge outcry over it. We need to protect our freedoms and use all the power given to us by the Constitution to do so. The government has no power whatsoever. The power rests with us, and it's up to us to use it, or we'll lose it.
