THE LATEST NUMBERS

It's been awhile since I've posted any poll numbers, so here's a few. This is from RASMUSSEN.

First, here are the polls from upcoming Congressional mid-term elections:

In Wisconsin, former Republican Governor Tommy Thompson is ahead in the polls over incumbent Democratic Senator Russ Feingold, 47% to 43%. And Thompson has not even entered the race!

In Iowa, Republican SENATOR CHARLES GRASSLEY leads former Iowa House member Bob Krause 56% to 30%, 59% to 31% over former U. S. Attorney Roxanne Conlon, and 61% to 25% over State Senator Tom Fiegen.

In Nevada, Chairwoman of the Nevada Republican Party Sue Lowden leads incumbent Senator Harry Reid by a margin of 50% to 40%. Former UNLV basketball player Danny Tarkanian leads Reid 50% to 43%.

In additional to the national races, Rasmussen polls show Democratic incumbent governors and Democratic state legislators are also running behind Republican challengers.

If I'm going to bore your with statistics, you know I HAVE to include the President's approval ratings. As of January 29, 2010, 25% of voters nationally strongly approve of the job Obama is doing as President. On the other hand, 42% of voters strongly disapprove. This gives President Obama an approval index of -17% which Rasmussen calculates by subtracting the percentage of those who strongly disapprove from the percentage of those who strongly approve. This is down two percentage points from just a couple of days ago.

So, I think the Democrats might just possibly be in a little trouble, as in a serious meltdown. Massachusetts was the warning shot. To the Democrats, it sounded like an atom bomb.

Liberal Democrats, hear that rumble? See the dust cloud on the horizon? That's us, the angry American voters, coming to a voting booth near you, November 2010.

OBAMA'S HOUSE OF CARDS COLLAPSING

The following article must have the Obama administration in "Oh You-Know-What" mode. I'm sure he and his staff are scrambling to try to do damage control. One of the things they and the rest of the liberal left are doing is demonizing the protests against the health care legislation being considered in Congress. The article was written by Scott Rasmussen and posted today on the RASMUSSEN REPORTS. There are some interesting poll numbers in this article that must have Obama and the rest of the leftist Democrats sweating like the proverbial pig.

"Seventy-one percent (71%) of U. S. voters say President Obama's policies have increased the size of the Federal deficit."

"Only five percent (5%) say the president's policies have cut the deficit, and 10% say they have had no impact. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure."

Wow! Almost three-quarters of U.S. voters! Obama being responsible for increasing the size of the Federal deficit has always been a no-brainer, but it seems people are now paying attention. This is really bad news for Obama. Can't blame Bush anymore when you consider that the Obama administration and the Democrat dominated Congress have run up the deficit more in six months than the Bush administration did in eight years.

"Not surprisingly, 88% of Republicans blame the president's policies, compared to 52% of Democrats. But 79% of voters not affiliated with either party agree."

Over half of the Democrats agree that Obama has driven up the Federal deficit. Really bad news for the Obama administration and the liberal Democrats in Congress.

An interesting statistic is that even though 54% blame the recession that began under the Bush administration for our current economic problems, but get this: 39% say our economic troubles are Obama's fault. More bad news for Obama.

Let's keep going: 37% cutting the Federal deficit in half over the next four years is number one among four of Obama's priorities, but 66% view it as a goal he is unlikely to achieve.

Nearly have think cuts in government spending helps the economy. Even more bad news for Obama considering his excessive deficit spending policies.

And the last one I'll cover here: "54% of U.S. voters say TAX CUTS (emphasis mine) are more important than new spending for health care reform." People may be starting to realize that tax cuts increase Federal revenue and boost the economy. I think this is also an indicator people are fed up with the tax burden, and the threat of INCREASING TAXES to pay for Obamacare should it pass. So much for 95% of middle class Americans getting a tax cut as Obama insisted during his campaign.

The 2010 elections are coming . . . and so are we the voters. We're not forgetting, and as I have said before, we are NOT going away. Congress better start listening to us now. The thunder of dissent is growing . . .

FOLKS ARE FINALLY WAKING UP

Haven't heard the ratings on President Obama lately? Might be a reason for that.

According to a recent Rasmussen poll, those who "Strongly Approve" of the president has been dropping steadily since he took office. As of July 10, 2009, those who strongly approve of the job Obama is doing has fallen 7% in almost as many months which brings him close to former President Bush's all time low - in just six months. Conversely, the percentage of those who "Strongly Disapprove" of the job Obama is doing has steadily risen to nearly 40%. Considering the vast majority Americans oppose the Cap and Tax bill, opposed the Economic Stimulus Pork Bill, oppose Obamacare, this isn't surprising.

Let's keep going. According to the latest GALLUP POLL: Obama's approval rating is now down to an average of 62% for the second quarter of the year. According to Gallup, Obama's approval rating has been at or below 62% since early June 2009 "with only a couple of exceptions."

It gets even better. According to Rasmussen, if we held presidential elections today, Obama would be anything but a shoo-in. Obama would be tied with former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney at 45%. If Sarah Palin were the Republican nominee, Obama would edge her out with 48% compared to her 42%. Click HERE to see the Rasmussen article. Seems all those leftist attacks on former Governor Palin haven't exactly worked very well.

Congressional elections are coming up. Any coincidence that Obamacare is losing support among key Democrats in Congress? I think they are well aware of these numbers and know the dissent is rising. This means there is a good likelihood many Democrats will start losing their jobs next year. Good. Needs to happen. They are obviously not voting the will of the people and not representing us.

One can only imagine what these numbers will be like at the end of 2009 - at the end of 2010 - at the end of 2011 - and 2012 is coming . . .

WANT TO KNOW WHAT AMERICANS THINK ABOUT THE STIMULUS PLAN?

I was wondering how Americans felt about the trillion-dollar so-called economic stimulus plan now that it has passed Congress and is headed for President Obama's signature. Remember that just a couple of weeks ago, a little over half of us, around 52-3% and according to the latest GALLUP poll published on February 11, 2009, public support had risen to 59%, mainly among Democrats,, were in favor of it. I checked out RASMUSSEN, and the results were surprising. The people Rasmussen contacted for the poll were voters. Here it is:

38% believe it will help the economy, 29% believe it will hurt it, and 24% believe it will have little impact. I couldn't find anything more current on the Gallup poll site than what I cited above.

AND . . . consumer confidence, which has been declining since early 2008, CONTINUED to fall to a record low AFTER passage of the plan. Apparently, John Q. Consumer isn't buying into the hype.

At any rate, that is a HUGE drop in very short period of time. It appears that voters looked at it and saw all the pork in for themselves. The major news sources have been detailing the pet projects that don't have anything to with the economy, and one broadcast I heard told about STIMULUSWATCH.ORG. Personally, I'm very surprised. Americans have traditionally not bothered to research things out, even with the ease at which it's available now. That's how Washington has "traditionally" gotten away with any and everything.

I'm sure President Obama, the Democrats in Congress, and the RINO's in Congress that voted for it are very well aware of these figures. They should be. Get this: 32% of the voters polled said they were more likely to vote for someone who supported the plan in Congress, and 35% said they were less likely to vote for someone who supported the plan in Congress. 35% is A LOT of votes. That can seriously cost some Congressmen and women their seats.

It seems that more and more voters are becoming disenchanted with the Obama administration's supposed remedy for our economy. There's no doubt that these voters included those who voted for Obama. I think there a lot of people who voted for Obama, but did not vote for the things he's doing. If that's the case, people should have paid more attention to Obama's campaign. Even though he's broken a number of promises already, he was quite clear about what he would do as President on many things. I think it just didn't register with a lot people, and now it may be.

I agree with the 29% and 24%. I think at the very least it won't make much difference. After having reviewed a lot of the plan myself, and watching newscasts on it, it's easy to see that it's mostly a huge spending bill except for about 7% of it. If this "plan" makes the economy worse, the Democrats (and the three RINOs) will totally own it. There won't be anyone else to blame since they have the majority in Congress and the White House. But, of course, the mainstream media will help the Obama administration spin it as a result of (here's that famous overworked phrase) "the last eight years."
