At the very least, this should be quite disturbing that such an organization would endorse Occupy Wall Street.  The two share the common goal of destroying free-market capitalism in favor of a socialist economic system.  This endorsement should make you wonder what other principles these two movements share.

Pakistan wants no part of our wars. So the US will invade and do it itself, over Pakistani dead bodies. More war in South Asia. This is for the good of the country? War between the US and Pakistan is inevitable the longer we stay in that region. We have too great differences. Our elite is ruthless, and determined to get its way. Our ruling elite have been waging class warfare for quite a while now. Up to now, they've kept it low key, so as not to rile the ignorant masses. Now that Communism is gone, they feel its OK to be brazen about it. The rich are dumping the financial mess on everyone else. They intend to never pay taxes. Certainly not their fair share. Did anyone see any millionaires, or billionaires step up to the plate for the big bank bailout, and offer their mucho bucks to help the nation? No, it was the US govt, the American taxpayer, who got stuck with the check. This is truly outrageous. The American middle class is barely surviving, thanks to the big money types, sending our jobs overseas to non white cheap labor (to put it kindly) nations. What nerve. What utter gaul. Then to add insult to injury, they tell us that we need to do away with social programs, as there is no money to pay for them, and pay the national debt, which is now much too high. How can we pay for anything, without jobs? Outsourcing to overseas, while illegal immigrants come in to take jobs. Giving non whites jobs, because of racial quotas, so that whites get shut out of the public sector jobs in their own country. Its now not anymore a white country, then it is a white govt. Having a black president makes it all too clear who's running the show. We might as well have national ZOG day. It makes as much sense as MLK birthday being a national holiday. The mega predator capitalist govt/system we have now, is bound and determined to make sure that the white middle class is enfeebled, if not outright eliminated totally. Every opportunity for a decent wage, is being destroyed. Our kids are being left with a world of nothingness to look forward to. Decent wages a thing of the past. It is truly amazing how our rulers don't get it that a consumer nation needs consumers. People need jobs to make money to consume. They talk about creating jobs, but all they need do is NOT give them away. Giving rich people tax breaks, is senseless. Rich people are rich, they need not spend money. They can happily deposit it in banks, and collect interest. Why would they bother creating jobs? How does that really benefit them? We've lived in la la land for too long. We can expect (and should have expected) NOTHING from the rich elite. They have no love for us, nor respect. As far as they're concerned they don't need us, and there is no convincing them otherwise. OK, if they don't need us, let's not need them. We need to embrace a new system. One based on race and the folk community, rather then wealth and power. A govt system that needs its people as much as they need it. National Socialism is based on entirely different premises as Judeo-Capitalism. Its needs and requirements are people based, not money based. We need a system that doesn't throw its people callously on the garbage dump, or let them be mown down on the battlefield fighting useless wars. If you're tired of the corruption and misspent money, then you need to support the ANP. Think of every dollar donated, as another vote in protest of the system corruption. THE FIGHT ISN'T OVER

Now that the mid-term elections are over, I think there are many who think the work is done now that most of the incumbent Democrats have been voted out.  This was the biggest shift in political power since the '30's.  Yes, this was a major victory for mainstream America and the death knell for Obama's socialist agenda.  We The People sent a very loud and clear message that we want the current policies of runaway deficit spending and the push for a Socialist America to stop.

But the work isn't done, and we can't afford to sit back and relax now.  Instead, we should ramp up our efforts and keep the pressure on.  I have been telling people for months that if the incumbent Democrats are voted out, then the Obama administration and other left wingnut Democrats in Congress would try to do as much damage as possible before the newly elected Congress people take office in January 2011.

Now, here it is.  According to an ARTICLE in the Huffington Post that appeared October 29, 2010, Senate Temporarily-Majority Leader Harry Reid said he would bring the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act up for a vote in the Senate after the November elections regardless of whether or not the Dems kept their majority or not.  I think what he was really saying was what I said: do as much damage as possible before his leftist cronies leave office.  Senator Reid, like the rest of us, knew months ahead of time there was going to be a huge shift in political power after the mid-terms that would result in the left losing control of Congress. 


What the DREAM Act says in a nutshell (pun intended) is that a child that enters the U. S. ***illegally*** and has been here for at least five years cannot be denied higher education (taxpayer funded) benefits  and the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security could stop the deportation process of a qualifying illegal alien if they are enrolled in college.  You can just imagine the fraud possibilities there to get around Federal law - enroll in 1 class, nothing in the DREAM act says they have to be attending, get to stay here after breaking the law to get here.  Nice. Now we have the Senate passage of S. 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act.  The way this bill is WORDED, the main thing that will be in danger in the immediate future will be the food co-ops and the Amish.  As I have posted about before, the Federal government and some state governments have been attacking food co-ops and the Amish. Down the road, one person with the FDA has the power to issue new regulations without Congressional (We The People's) approval.


Two Georgia senators, SENATOR SAXBY CHAMBLISS and SENATOR JOHNNY ISAKSON helped write the original legislation. So, my wife wrote to Senator Isakson and I wrote to Senator Chambliss.  They both wrote back and interestingly enough voted against the final passage of the bill.  They both responded that the way the bill was originally written, it was to improve the FDA's ability to ensure food safety. 


Here is what Senator Isakson said which is basically what Senator Chambliss said too:


"On November 30, 2010, S.510, the Food Safety Modernization Act, passed the Senate by a vote of 73-25.  While I was an original cosponsor of S.510, I voted against final passage of the Senate bill.  In several last minute changes made behind closed doors, Senate Democrats added numerous costs, and numerous new regulations that will require more government employees and a lot more government intervention.  To add insult to injury, Senators were then denied the opportunity to offer amendments to improve the bill during the debate on the Senate floor.  In essence, the modified bill was no longer a good piece of legislation."


They both also expressed concerns about not having "an open and transparent conference with the House of Representatives before the final bill is sent to the President for his signature."


"Behind closed doors" . . . sound familiar? That's been going on with the Democratic majority in this Congress since Obama took office - backroom deals, votes at 3:00 a. m., secret meetings.  


And now, Obama is delaying his Hawaiian vacation to try and raise your taxes. (SOURCE 1) (SOURCE 2)






So again, whatever happened to "95% of Americans will actually receive a tax cut?"  Us 95%ers would like to know although we all know the answer to that one.

The soon-to-exit Democrats are intent on doing as much damage as they possibly can before they have to leave in January.  We must keep the pressure on to stop this.  


Those of you who have lame duck Democrats representing you in Congress should be e-mailing them about things like this.  While they don't have anything to lose personally at this point since they have already lost their seats, they now must think about what is best for their party and voting against the will of their constituents isn't it.  More of them will be coming up for re-election in 2012.  If we remain silent as we have over the past few weeks, the results will be disastrous.  Our fight to stop the destruction of our freedoms and way of life isn't over . . . it's just begun.

SEIU-NPA TERRORISM

It really isn't hard to find examples of the left's irrationality and terroristic tactics. The left is quick to criticize the Tea Party protests, but what is in the video below is OK.

This is a video of a protest by the SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION and the NATIONAL PEOPLE'S ACTION, another "community organizing" group. This protest did not take place on public property. It was not a march down a city street. This group of people, with the assistance of the local police, went to the HOME of GREGORY BAER, who is the Bank of America's Deputy General Counsel. The Baer's teenage son was at home alone and was terrorized the entire time by this mob. Their son spent the entire time locked in the bathroom. Like any other reasonable person, he had no idea who or what they were, or if their intent was to enter the home or what. Now that this information is public, do you think the SEIU or NPA has issued any kind of apology for this? No, of course not. The reason being this was a leftist protest, not a conservative one. If the Tea Party protestors had done something like this, every bull-horn carrying liberal in the country would have been demanding an apology, an investigation, and we would have had this on all of the news channels 24/7 for weeks on end. By their silence, the SEIU and NPA condoned the terrorizing of this teenage boy.

The ironic thing here is the main theme of the protest was home foreclosures and the bank's opposition to the government's version of financial reform. The woman in this video whose son was killed in a car accident and supposedly received a collection call from Bank of America half an hour after the coroner left her home (and I say "supposedly" because the left is known for staging such protests with false stories to further their agenda; the account she gives could be totally false, partly false, or 100% true - we have no way of knowing), complained that the debt collector, who she identified as "Annette", did not offer condolences upon being told of the family's tragedy. Instead, "Annette" said that the call was from a debt collector and the call may be recorded or monitored. While there may be debt collectors that may make this announcement live, I have never heard of any. When you hear this statement, it's a phonebot. Some phonebots are programmed with the caller's name, and are programmed to start the recorded message when you pick up and say "Hello." I've received a number of these calls (wrong numbers, looking for someone else - this is one the reasons having to change your telephone number really stinks!) and not one made this announcement live. For me, that case a shadow of doubt on her story.

I have a suggestion for this bunch. If you want to get at the real cause of the home foreclosure crisis, go have this same protest on the front porch of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C., 20500-0004, (202) 456-1111. Although some of those responsible for the home mortgage crisis, specifically Former Presidents JIMMY CARTER and BILL CLINTON, are obviously no longer in residence. Of course, the SEIU and the NPA are not about to hold Carter, Clinton, or Obama responsible for any of it. Far be it from government to EVER get us into any kind of mess.

Well, the protests didn't stop here. The SEIU and NPA also stormed BANK LOBBIES with their protests, not considering for even a second young children or senior citizens might be inside terrorized at their terroristic acts. It could have caused someone with certain medical problems to die. They didn't care. Besides, such actions at a bank are a violation of many Federal laws. You think there was any investigation or arrests? Nope. Nor will they be. Double standard time, it was a leftist protest, so they have the Immunity Idol.

And of course, Obama is tied to the SEIU. Between January 2009 and October 2009, Andrew Stern formerly of the SEIU was a frequent visitor to the White House meeting with Obama administration officials (SOURCE)(SOURCE). Stern retired from the SEIU in April 2010. There have been many other protests including in a CEO's front yard (SOURCE).

Heather Tobis Booth, formerly of the extreme leftist STUDENTS FOR A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY, is now head of the liberal anti-capitalist AMERICANS FOR FINANCIAL REFORM, which is a major organizing force behind the SEIU's SHOWDOWN IN AMERICA. Booth is also the founder of USACTION, formerly Citizen Action until REPRESENTATIVE JAN SHAKOWSKY'S husband's illegal activities caused Citizen Action to collapse into USAction. Just like ACORN's demise and renaming.

OBAMACARE UNDER FIRE - FROM OBAMA'S COUSIN!

Here is something I'm sure has drawn the ire of the Obama administration, Reid and Pelosi. This isn't one of the many doctors throughout the doctors that oppose this attempt at a government takeover of our healthcare system. This is OBAMA'S OWN COUSIN!

Well now among all the other problems with passing National Health Care here comes Obama’s second cousin who is a doctor (Milton Wolf) saying things against Obamacare.

“Primum nil nocere.” First, do no harm. This guiding principle is a bedrock of medical care. Sadly, those politicians who would rewrite our health care laws do not live in the same universe as do the doctors and health care professionals who must practice it.

Imagine if, like physicians, politicians were personally held to the incredibly high level of scrutiny that includes civil and financial liability for any unintended consequence of their decisions. Imagine if they were forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars each year on malpractice insurance and still faced the threat of multimillion-dollar lawsuits with every single decision they made. If so, a government takeover of health care would be the furthest thing from their minds.




Obamacare proponents would have us believe that we will add 30 million patients to the system without adding providers, we will see no decline in the quality of care for the millions of Americans currently happy with the system, and -if you act now!- we will save money in the process. But why stop there? Why not promise it will no longer rain on weekends and every day will be a great hair day?

America has the finest health care delivery system in the world. Let’s not forget that and put it at risk in the name of reform. Desperate souls across the globe flock to our shores and cross our borders every day to seek our care. Why? Our system provides cures while the government-run systems from which they flee do not. Compare Europe’s common cancer mortality rates to America’s: breast cancer – 52 percent higher in Germany and 88 percent higher in the United Kingdom; prostate cancer – a staggering 604 percent higher in the United Kingdom and 457 percent higher in Norway; colon cancer – 40 percent higher in the United Kingdom.

Look closer at the United Kingdom. Britain’s higher cancer mortality rate results in 25,000 more cancer deaths per year compared to a similar population size in the United States. But because the U.S. population is roughly five times larger than the United Kingdom’s, that would translate into 125,000 unnecessary American cancer deaths every year. This is more than all the mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles, cousins and children in Topeka, Kan. And keep in mind, these numbers are for cancer alone. America also has better survival rates for other major killers, such as heart attacks and strokes. Whatever we do, let us not surrender the great gains we have made. First, do no harm. Lives are at stake.

Obamacare: Fixing price at any cost

The justification for Obamacare has been to control costs, but the problem is there is little in Obamacare that will do that. Instead, there are provisions that will ration care and artificially set price. This is a confusion of costs and price.

As one example, consider the implications of Obamacare’s financial penalty aimed at your doctor if he seeks the expert care he has determined you need. If your doctor is in the top 10 percent of primary care physicians who refer patients to specialists most frequently – no matter how valid the reasons – he will face a 5 percent penalty on all their Medicare reimbursements for the entire year. This scheme is specifically designed to deny you the chance to see a specialist. Each year, the insidious nature of that arbitrary 10 percent rule will make things even worse as 100 percent of doctors try to stay off that list. Many doctors will try to avoid the sickest patients, and others will simply refuse to accept Medicare. Already, 42 percent of doctors have chosen that route, and it will get worse. Your mother’s shiny government-issued Medicare health card is meaningless without doctors who will accept it.

Obamacare will further diminish access to health care by lowering reimbursements for medical care without regard to the costs of that care. Price controls have failed spectacularly wherever they’ve been tried. They have turned neighborhoods into slums and have caused supply chains to dry up when producers can no longer profit from providing their goods. Remember the Carter-era gas lines? Medical care is not immune from this economic reality. We cannot hope that our best and brightest will pursue a career in medicine, setting aside years of their lives – for me, 13 years of school and training – to enter a field that might not even pay for the student loans it took to get there.

Giving power back to people

I believe there is a better way. The problems in the American health care system are not caused by a shortage of government intrusion. They will not be solved by more government intrusion. In fact, our current problems were precisely, though unintentionally, created by government.

World War II-era wage-control measures – a form of price controls – ushered in a perverted system in which we turn to our employers for insurance and the government penalizes us if we choose to purchase insurance for ourselves. You are not given the opportunity to be a wise consumer of health care and compare prices as well as quality in any meaningful way. Worse still, your insurance company is not answerable to you because you are not its customer. It is answerable to your employer, whose interests differ from your own.

Insurance companies have been vilified for following the perverse rules that government has created for them. But it gets worse. The government, always knowing best, deploys insurance commissioners across the land to dictate what the insurance companies must provide, whether you want it or not, and each time, your premiums increase. Obamacare will make all of this worse, not better.

One of America’s founding principles is our trust in the people and their economic freedom to rule their own lives. We should decouple health insurance from employers and empower patients to be consumers once again. Allow them to determine the insurance plan that best meets their families’ needs and which company will provide it. This will unleash a wave of competition that will drive costs down in a way that price controls never have. Eliminate the artificial state boundary rules that protect insurance companies from true competition and watch as voters demand that their state insurance commissioners get the heck out of the way. Innovative companies will drive down costs similar to how Geico and Progressive have worked for automobile insurance. And it won’t cost taxpayers a trillion dollars in the process.

This free-market approach has worked for everything from high-definition TVs to breakfast cereals, but will it work for medicine? It already is. Take Lasik eye surgery, for example. Because patients are allowed to be informed consumers and can shop anywhere, doctors work hard for their business. Services, availability and expertise have all increased, and costs have decreased. Should consumers demand it, insurance companies – now answerable to you rather than your employer – would cover it.

Between Barack and a hard place

I have personally trained and practiced in both the government-run and free-market segments of American medicine. The difference is vast. Patients see this for themselves, and this may be why, according to a recent CNN poll, they oppose Obamacare nearly 3 to 1. I am with them. It is difficult for me to speak publicly against the president on his central issue, but too much is at stake.

I wish my cousin Barack the greatest of success in office. But I feel duty-bound to rise in opposition to Obamacare. I must take a stand for my patients, my profession and, ultimately, my country. The problems caused by government will not be solved by growing government. Now that this new era of big-government takeovers has spread to our health care system, it’s not just our freedoms or our wallets that are at stake. It’s our lives.

It imposes price controls on the health insurance industry. Every time in history price controls have been used, they have resulted in shortages and rationing. It not only makes taxpayer funding of abortion a right, it provides for the direct funding of abortions through Community Health Centers and would lead to mandates that would require every private insurance plan to cover elective abortions. CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?

Today I saw something I thought I would never see. Thousands, no MILLIONS, about 2 Million people according to ABC News and CNN, marching on Washington protesting the government's deficit spending trillions at a time, Obamacare which will eventually eliminate private health insurance, and the resulting higher taxes as if we're not paying enough now. I was very happy to see the turnout, and see the area from the Capitol building all the way to the Washington monument completely filled with Americans who are fed up with the government's reckless spending. I haven't seen anything like that since, I guess since Dr. Martin Luther King was in Washington. News reports stated that the expressways around Washington were closed due to the numbers.

People are fed up and have been for years, but are now fed up enough to push back. The American people are discovering the power they wield as voters and citizens, and they are using it.

If the Democrats in Washington want to keep their jobs, they better listen to us. The potential exists for many of them, along with any RINO's, to be voted out in the midterm elections next year. Americans are sending a message. The message is loud and clear, and definitely represents the majority.

But this administration continues to ignore us. We all heard Obama during his speech to Congress this week make the threat that if anyone disagreed with him, he would call them out. Well, Mr. President, here we are. We're calling your hand.

And don't think the Obama administration isn't in serious panic mode now. The dissention continues to grow. I said it in a previous post, and I'll say it again: WE'RE HERE, AND WE'RE NOT GOING AWAY.

JUST A LITTLE BIT O' SOCIALISM!

The other day, my wife and I enrolled our granddaughter, Kate, in kindergarten. Now what I'm about to tell you is old news as this has been going on for at least a couple of decades. But, what I'm about to tell you is so subtle that most people don't even realize what is going on.

When we enrolled her, we were given a list of things she would need. I won't go into the specifics of the list here, but suffice it to say that some of the items were for Katie's use. There were other things, though, that were not for her use exclusively. Such as about two dozen pencils. When I was in school, that would have lasted me about two years. Not so now. We have to supply this many pencils to be placed in "the pot" and . . . here we go . . . REDISTRIBUTED to all of the students. Redistribution is basic socialism. There are other items that are set to be "redistributed" to all the students too.

Oh, and, let's not forget our "payment" to the government. We have to supply dry erase markers . . . not for Katie, not for students, but for THE TEACHER! That's right - we have to buy some of the teacher's supplies too.

This is another place I really draw the line. I've paid Special Local Option Sales Taxes for years supporting the school system. I've listened to the extortion by the local school system threatening voters with increased property taxes even more if the SPLOST is voted down. I have paid property taxes to support the school system for years. The school system receives State and Federal funds. The students are told their school is "poor" to get them to sell door-to-door to raise funds for their school. My question: just where is all this money going?

See how very subtle this is? It gets people used to the idea almost from the crib. Is it any wonder that only 53% of Americans favor capitalism over socialism? Is it really surprising this has surfaced in our public school system? Not really. The tenth "plank" of THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO is and I quote: "Free education for all children in public schools."

FREEDOM FIGHTER AWARD . . .

. . . Zurama, who writes SUNRISE IN HAVANA, passed out some awards to bloggers this month, and my blog was once again included! This award, the Inconfidentes Prize 2009, is given in honor to the people who fight for their town, their nation, and serve as an example to others. The award is also a freedom award, for blogs promoting individuality rather than collectivity, and celebrating freedom in contrast to Socialism and Communism. [A side note here: I find it very interesting and very sad at the same time that someone from Castro's Cuba (doesn't matter if it's Fidel or whoever, the government hasn't changed) sees the trend in American government today. She isn't by herself. Many who have immigrated here from Socialist Europe and other Socialist countries are amazed that most Americans fail to see where America is headed. It's amazing to me too.] Bloggers receiving this award must defend the freedom ideals defended by TIRADENTES "until the last moment" and represent the world-wide fight against Communism, in particular the type advocated by the FORO DE SAO PAULO.

OBAMA'S REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH

Here is an audio clip from an interview with then Senator Obama on WBEZ radio in Chicago, Illinois done in 2001. I'm sure you have heard accusations leveled at conservatives and/or Republicans of basically coining the phrase "redistribution of wealth" in order to attack liberals and/or Democrats.

Well, here it is from Obama's own mouth, talking about "redistribution of wealth" and "economic justice in this society". He discusses the best way to accomplish this, whether through the courts or legislation. Lest anyone be mistaken, the word "wealth" here does NOT refer to wealthy people. This refers to the taking of income from EVERYONE, and distributing it to others. In other words, if you make say $20,000 a year, and someone else makes only $17,000 a year, Obama believes that income should be taken from you and given to those earning less than you in order to achieve "economic justice." If you're working two or three jobs to make that $20,00 per year, he does not believe it's fair for you to be able to keep it all. Socialism 101. Not that he denies it anyway.

THE PREVAILING ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY

This post appeared on February 21, 2009 and was a poll conducted among registered voters by Fox News on February 17th and 18th, 2009. The post, entitled IS AMERICA LOST TO THE SOCIALISTS?, is very saddening because it shows the prevailing entitlement mentality of our society, and how willing most people are to give up their freedoms and turn them over to the Federal government, because it's easier than being responsible for one's own actions and decisions. Obviously, most people want the government to take care of them, and control every aspect of their lives. If that's what you want, Washington will certainly be most happy to oblige as they want more and more control of our lives.

One last thought: these numbers have to include conservatives and liberals alike. Really sickening.

BAILOUT AFTER BAILOUT . . . WHERE DOES IT END?

NATALIE commented in an entry some time ago asking for my thoughts on the automaker bailout. It has been some weeks ago, but I haven't had the opportunity to research it out. I already had my opinions about all of the bailouts, so I'll include the first one too.

The first bailout is known as the TROUBLED ASSET RELIEF PROGRAM (TARP) (clickable link to see a brief explanation). I won't go into a lot of details about the particulars. I'm sure everyone has heard enough about for about three lifetimes.

These funds are basically in two parts although the first part was broken up into an initial $250 billion and then $100 billion for a total of $350 billion. The total package is slated to be $700 billion. This bailout was to buy bad mortgages as taxpayer expense. YOU AND I NOW OWN BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF "BAD DEBT." As we all know, "bad debt" is debt that can't be collected. So the bottom line is that YOUR MONEY AND MINE is being used to eliminate that losses of FANNIE MAE , FREDDIE MAC, LEHMAN BROTHERS, AIG, and others. The cause of this crisis was giving mortgages to people who had no business having them in the first place. If you visit Fannie Mae's website, for example, you'll see their purpose is to make home ownership possible. Problem is, mortgages were extended to people with bad credit or otherwise high risk. A tremendous amount of pressure was put on lending insitututions by the Federal government starting with the CARTER ADMINISTRATION and continued through the CLINTON ADMINISTRATION including a lawsuit led by ACORN that Barack Obama, then an attorney with the lawfirm of David, Miner, Barnhill, and Galland, forced Citigroup to make SUBPRIME MORTGAGES. And one of the chief problems identiified as being one of the major causes of this crisis? Subprime mortgages. Now, you don't have to understand what subprime mortgages to see the hypocrisy here. The proverbial chickens have come home to roost. Now the Federal government is using US the taxpayers to pay for this mess. The politicians in Washington didn't listen to us, the voters. EIGHTY-EIGHT PERCENT of the American public was AGAINST the bailout and extremely angry over this. I totally agree with the 88%. The Democrats' attempt to find a Republican to blame completely failed. That's because there was no Republican to blame. The vast majority of the American public didn't go for it. Amercia said very loudly, "NO!" Yet, as we all know, they did it anyway. I hope the 88% doesn't forget, and remembers those who voted for this bailout during upcoming elections.

I say don't distribute the remaining $350 billion until some accountability measures are put into place. Just like the Hurrican Katrina funding, this first $350 billion has absolutely no accountability measures, so there can't be any accounting for where all this money goes. Without accountability, this taxpayer money can be used by the individual companies or entities any way they like, which isn't the intention of the handing over of this money.

Now, here come the U. S. automakers while the Washington politicians are in the handout mood. I have a few of problems with this. Other than the obvious socialism involved here, in my opinion, from having lived through the '70's, the Federal government once again shares a large part of the responsibility. It was during the '70's that I saw the foreign automakers allowed to export their vehicles to the United States with no restrictions whatsoever. Now before anyone yells "protectionism" here, I'll go ahead and say "you betcha." Although I don't support massive protectionism, I think a certain amount was in order here to protect American industry. There have always been many, many other industries directly tied to the U. S. automakers. But, Washington did nothing. So the market was swamped by foreign imports produced by non-union labor and therefore could be sold at a much lower price. After a time, Washington finally placed some import tariffs on foreign imports. Then the foreign automakers started building plants here, shipping the parts from overseas, and started building their cars in the U.S. to bypass the import tariffs. Washington was again very slow to respond, but it was too little too late. The damage had been done. And speaking of the Federal government, I don't think I have to go into the massive Federal regulation of the automotive industry. As with any set of Federal regulations, only about 20% are really meaningful. The rest just drives up the cost to John Q. Consumer.

The UNITED AUTO WORKERS union is a large part of this too. Again, having lived through the '70's, I witnessed strike after strike after strike and negotiation after negotiation for more company benefits, higher and higher wages, on and on it went. These chickens have also come home to roost. A company absolutely cannot continue to pay out more and more benefits and higher and higher wages and still expect to maintain enough of a profit to remain in business. An example of this is that between fifteen and twenty years ago, a worker for General Motors was laid off. He moved from Michigan to Duluth, Georgia. According to his UAW contract, he was to received FULL PAY for TWO SOLID YEARS WITHOUT PRODUCING SO MUCH AS A DOORHANDLE. Just how many businesses can stay in business with such outgo? I'm surprised they've lasted this long.

The solution to this is not a taxpayer funded bailout, uh, excuse me, it's not a "bailout", they are "bridge loans". I think that the automakers should be allowed to go bankrupt. Again, before anyone has kittens about this, bankruptcy does not mean out of business. The type of bankruptcy the automakers should file is not to go out of business, but to reorganize. In the words of one of my readers, God knows they need to. Overlapping makes and models should be eliminated and union contracts renegotiated. Bankruptcy reorganization is the only way this could be accomplished. The U. S. automakers would emerge with a less expensive employee base, fewer product lines, and new strategic operational plans. This would also allow the U. S. automakers to bring back manufacturing which is being outsourced offshore. Employement would be provided for people no longer needed on assembly lines for duplicate makes such as the Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer - same vehicle, different nameplates. It would be far cheaper for the taxpayers if this were to happen, even if extended unemployment benefits were granted by the Federal government during the reorganization time.

One last major problem with all of these bailouts is this: JUST WHERE DOES IT STOP? These bailouts just open the door for more bailouts funded with YOUR money. It shouldn't have been started, and I say end it now.

HARD TIMES AHEAD

Well, Americans have made their choice for "Change". I outlined more of these "changes" in my recent post, "WHAT TO EXPECT IF OBAMA IS ELECTED (clickable link)." Here are some of the "changes" that I also think can be expected:

ABORTION - States' rights to regulate it will disappear. Obama supports ninth month abortions, and voted against a bill while a State legislator to protect infants who survived abortion attempts.

FEDERAL TAKEOVER OF AMERICA'S HEALTHCARE SYSTEM - But Obama said that we would be free to get our own health insurance plans and not use the Federal healthcare system. That will last only a little while. I think eventually we will see "HillaryCare" put in place, which one of the main points of it was the fining of insurance companies for writing a health insurance policy. Getting health care under Obama's plan will be a nightmare. Just ask any Veteran what it's like trying to get care through the Veterans' Administration and the abuses in that system. Look at Medicaid and Medicare, and their bureucratic red tape overload . These are just a few examples at how INEFFICIENT the government is. ANYTHING the government gets in the middle is always turned into a huge mess. One more thing to consider - under his plan, there will be times you will actually be DENIED treatment. That's right - if you are a senior citizen for example, suffering from a particular ailment, and a young person has the same disease, the young person will be treated FIRST. Sounds like genocide, doesn't it? But that's the way socialized medicine works - it's a giant triage. Many people die needlessly under such a system while waiting for treatment that would not have died had they received treatment timely.

TAXES - I think there will be a huge increase here. In order to fund his healthcare plan alone will cost you and I hundreds of trillions of dollars - yes, folks, that's TRILLIONS with all those zeros behind it. Taxes will go much higher to pay for all of Obama's other massive spending. Under the Clinton administration, Federal income taxes were about forty percent. I think under Obama, it will be much higher than this due to spending much more than former President Clinton did. That means a much SMALLER paycheck. Don't fall for Obama's hype that he would only tax the "rich". During the last two weeks of his campaign, he and Senator Biden kept quietly lowering the income threshold for tax increases. Last I heard it was down to $150,000/year. Former President Clinton said he would only increase taxes on the rich, and we all found out that we were all "rich". Folks, I simply can't afford this, but then again, Obama thinks that since I'm a middle class average working man, I am incapable of making a good income.

ECONOMY - Look for the economy to eventually completely tank. With the massive spending Obama wants to implement, and the taxes he wants to impose on private enterprise, the economy will suffer. We have already seen an example of this under the Carter administration. We ended up with a nearly fifteen percent annual inflation rate, and people considered themselves lucky to get a home loan for as low as FOURTEEN PERCENT! The Carter administration also imposed the windfall profits tax on the oil companies in 1980. Result? Higher gas prices. Companies don't pay taxes - you and I do in the form of higher prices.

ISRAEL - This is vitally important since how we treat Israel directly affects us (Genesis 12:1-3 - ". . . I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee"). We have already suffered severe consequences for selling out Israel many times already. I received an article from ARUTZ SHEVA yesterday, the Israel News Service, titled OBAMA TELLS ABBAS, I SUPPORT DIVIDING JERUSALEM (click title to read the entire article). Here are the first two paragraphs:

"(IsraelNN.com) Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama privately expressed his support for a new Arab state within Israel's current borders, including eastern Jerusalem, during his meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah this summer.

According to a report published Tuesday in the Lebanese newspaper al-Ahbar, Obama told Abbas that he supports a PA state, and Arab "rights to east Jerusalem" as well. The sources said Abbas and PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad "heard the best things they ever heard from an American president" during the meeting. However, said sources quoted in the report, the candidate asked them to keep his declaration a secret."

A secret? And of course, you will not see this reported in the American leftist mainstream media.

WAR ON TERROR - Obama said in his campaign over and over again he would withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan. If he follows through with this, watch for the casualties to rise before all the troops leave. Also watch for the Iraqi government and the Afghan government to be overthrown by an anything but democratic regime. Terrorists would move right back in. More history repeating itself - like Vietnam, we would leave in disgrace, all because of the public believing the outright lies of the mainstream media - then and now. This would also open us up for another terrorist attack here. The terrorist organizations have no doubt been listening to Obama and know that he is very naive when it concerns foreign policy. Thus, they can hit us here as many times as they want to, and we will do nothing. Oh, wait, we would do something. Just like our responses in the 1970's and 1980's, we would probably file a formal protest with the United Nations. That'll sure have the terrorists quaking in their boots!

We have a very rough road ahead of us for at least the next four years. I believe through the Obama presidency, the United States will slip even further towards a place of non-importance on the world stage. A study of end-time prophecy in the book of Revelation reveals the United States is either barely mentioned or not at all. Most theologians agree on "not at all." Whether you believe the Bible or not, I think we are in for some very hard times that we haven't seen in some years. Thank God for term limits. But then, according to our President-elect, I'm just a bitter American clinging to my guns and religion, and not capable of earning anything more than a meager income.
